Baked Apple-Cinnamon French Toast

The first layer of Baked Apple-Cinnamon French Toast is the mixture of bread, spices, and dried apples. (Prepped the night before; it must stay in the fridge for at least 8 hours.)

The second layer of Baked Apple-Cinnamon French Toast is 8 slices of whole wheat bread without crust. The egg mixture is then poured over the top. (Before putting it away, you cover it with parchment and foil.)

The last layer of Baked Apple-Cinnamon French Toast is a dusting of powder sugar. The recipe calls for 12 servings, but I cut it into 16 slices to save on calories. 12 servings is 183 calories each and cut into 16 servings it is only 137 calories each. (Those who added maple syrup got those 50 calories back quick...)

The Baked Apple-Cinnamon French Toast turned out better than I expected. It needs another 10 minutes cooking while covered though to give it a better consistency. Some guests drizzled maple syrup on theirs and seemed to enjoy every bite.
