- 1. Can soup help heal the sick? I may never know...
-
Last night I made soup for my boys as a somewhat desperate and selfish attempt to make them feel better. My husband Dan has been sick for a week now, congested more than he's ever been in his life (to his recollection at least which isn't saying a whole lot). My son Gaetano has had a sore throat and a fever on and off the last couple of days. With two sick boys in the house I've been feeling like I'm coming down with something too.

- 2. Super Easy Pumpkin Soup
-
This pumpkin soup recipe is truly super easy. Within a few minutes you'll have a kitchen filled with the aroma of what smells like hours of labor when in reality it only took as much effort as opening a few cans.

- 4. Herb-Coated Top Sirloin with Brocolli and Rice
-
The meat we bought was used to make EatingWell's Herb-Coated Fillet Mignon, only we used center-cut sirloin instead. We actually prefer the sirloin to the fillet mignon for this recipe. It turned out really tender and if I didn't know any better, I'd think it was fillet mignon anyhow.

The creamy sauce is made with a little bit of reduced-fat cream cheese, some honey, a few tablespoons of milk and a touch of butter.

Instead of my usual simple red sauce, I changed it up a bit with some lemon olive oil and asparagus. The result is a dish I'm calling, Chicken & Four Cheese Ravioli with Asparagus Red Sauce.

I asked Gaetano and Dan what to call these eggs and without missing a beat my son declared, "The Awesomest Eggs!" I wish you could have heard ow he said awesomest.Dan and I had a good chuckle over it.

- 8. Turkey & Tomato Panini, Pineapple Coffee Cake, and Ham & Cheese Casserole
-
Of course we had Turkey & Tomato Panini; we've made that a brunch staple in our house. To the right of the panini is the Pineapple Coffee Cake. Bottom left is a piece of ham steak, left over from making the Ham & Cheese Casserole (bottom right).
