Lunch at "how do you roll?"

I had a great lunch at how do you roll? today with my ex-sister-in-law Andrea prior to getting fitted for my wedding dress. I didn't know it at the time, but that turned out to be my dinner. I was really full and didn't get hungry for dinner which was really surprising since sushi doesn't usually keep me satiated.

I had a roll with tuna and spicy crawfish, pineapple, and green onion. (You get your choice of three "veggies" but I only did two since I went with a double-meat roll.)

Just look at that roll and tell me that it doesn't look like something from a gourmet sushi place. Some of the best rolls I've had have come from this restaurant. The only thing that could have made this particular roll better for me was mango, but unfortunately they did not have any this time.

Andrea had a "modern" roll (which uses soy paper instead of the "traditional" which uses nori/seaweed). She filled it with chicken, asparagus, green onion, and pineapple, topped with creamy miso sauce.

We both enjoyed our lunch, until I bit my lip (again). Other than that it was delicious.

Afterward I went to be fitted for my wedding dress. When I ordered my dress, I ordered it a size small because I knew I would be losing weight. Much to my delight, not only was I able to fit in the dress, it had to be taken in! I was hoping I only had to pay for the hem, but I suppose this is a good problem to have... :-)

how do you roll?

I absolutely love that I can get sushi the way I want without feeling like I am hassling the server to leave things out of pre-defined roll options. Plus, if I have a roll I like elsewhere I can almost always re-create it here.
