Sausage, Mushroom, & Spinach Lasagna

Last night I made two 9x13 trays of Sausage, Mushroom & Spinach Lasagna. The recipe said that it serves 10, but it is way easier to slice it into 12 portions. That means, instead of 333 calories per portion, it's ~277 calories a piece. So I can have 1 1/2 pieces for ~416 calories.

I have a lot to say about this recipe, so I'm going to spread it out over a few pictures.

Take note; there's a good amount of melted Mozzarella cheese on top. The individual slice pictures don't show that well at all.

You can't really see the thin layer of Mozzarella cheese on top of this Sausage, Mushroom & Spinach Lasagna but it is there. At least you can see it if you look at the picture of it in the tray.

To make the picture look nicer -- and let's face it, with my photography I can use all the help from my subject that I can get -- I added just a little sprinkling of grated Parmesan cheese.

Shown from a different angle this time, the Sausage, Mushroom & Spinach Lasagna was a lot juicier than I expected it would be. I don't eat basil, so I used a little oregano and some minced garlic instead. (Let me know if you want exact amounts.)

Close-up view of lasagna

None of my pictures of this Sausage, Mushroom & Spinach Lasagna do it justice. I figured a closeup should show off that there's plenty of yummy goodness between each layer of pasta.

Even though Dan is not a fan of mushrooms and has been known to pick them out of his food, he liked this recipe. He ate every mushroom. I was impressed -- both with Dan and how good this turned out.
