Sushi Zushi with Gaetano - Finally!

June 26, 2010

We've been to Sushi Zushi (see Related Content below) a few times now and hadn't yet taken Gaetano. My son has been eating sushi since age 3 and loves a good spicy roll. He's been really good lately so we treated him to Sushi Zushi.

Sushi Zushi - Handrolls for Gaetano

Gaetano had 2 hand rolls. He had the Philadelphia HandRoll (left) and a Spicy Scallop Hand Roll (right).

Sushi Zushi - Scandanavian Roll & Monterey Roll

Dan and I shared the Monterey Roll (since I loved it so much when I ate with Sydney) and we tried the Scandanavian Roll too. Both normally come with kanikama crab but we sub for snow crab.

Sushi Zushi - Vanilla Mochi

We topped off the meal with one order of Vanilla Mochi which comes with 3 mochi balls. Since there's 3 of us, that works perfectly. If you've never had mochi, they're ice cream balls coated with a sweet rice paste that is sticky so it's rolled in a powdered sugar. They come in a variety of flavors, but you can never go wrong with vanilla.

Sushi Zushi was a hit with Gaetano so I'm sure he'll be begging us to take him back again and again.

Sushi Zushi for Lunch with Sydney

I had the Monterey Roll but I substituted snow crab for the kanikama crab: Melted Monterey cheese on the outside, breaded kanikama  crab and avocado rolled inside with chives, chipotle sauce and serrano pepper.

Sushi Zushi with my Parents for Dinner

Once I had dinner at Zushi Sushi, I knew that I would have to bring my parents. I just didn't realize it would be this soon. My mom and I were out shopping for her dress for the wedding and Dan went to Men's Wearhouse with my dad to get fitted for his tuxedo. We met up for dinner at Zushi Sushi at The Domain.

Sushi Zushi

Tonight Dan & I decided to give Sushi Zushi over at The Domain a try. We didn't know what to expect at all. We just figured that if it is at The Domain it is probably good. It turns out that's a rather safe assumption...
