The Rehearsal Dinner

July 8, 2010

After an hour and a half of rehearsing for the wedding, we came back to our house for dinner. We figured it'd be a hole lot more inexpensive, relaxed, and enjoyable to do it at home rather than at a busy restaurant.

Ambrogio preparing lasagna for the rehearsal dinner.

Ambrogio prepared two trays of lasagna, garlic bread, and Caesar salad. No, it wasn't weird to have my ex-husband cater for us from our kitchen. His daughter Isabella is our flower girl, so he was going to be there in any case. (We were tempted to have him cater the wedding but it was more economical to go with the caterer that comes with the package.)

Everyone enjoyed the lasagna which had home-made meatballs stuffed inside. The garlic bread was delicious too and the Caesar salad was a nice compliment to the dinner. As always, Ambrogio did a great job.

The best Galaktoboureko ever! Made by my mom of course!

For dessert we had Galaktoboureko, which my mom made and it was amazing. This is one of those desserts that mom makes that spoil it for people. Galaktoboureko by anyone else just isn't as good.
