Dan's Jamaican Spiced Cider

Dan's Jamaican Spiced Cider

Named for Daniel Short, the husband behind eatingwithangela.com, Dan's Jamaican Spiced Cider recipe is perhaps the easiest and quickest spiced cider recipe ever. Dan appreciates the simple things and avoids anything complicated in the kitchen (or bar for that matter).

Unlike other spiced cider recipes, this recipe only has one cider, liquor and a dash of cinnamon. St. Elizabeth's™ Allspice Dram packs a strong spicy punch, so you won't need to have a pantry stocked with allspice, clove, or nutmeg.

About  St. Elizabeth's™ Allspice Dram
From the origins in the tropical hills and valleys of Jamaica, the allspice berry has for generations been prized for its exceptional taste of clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg and a pepper note that dazzles the palate. The allspice liqueur known in classic cocktails as "Pimento Dram", brings together the fine pot-still rum and allspice berries of Jamaica. Enjoy St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram in classic cocktails, Wassail and other punches, mulled wine, continental and island cuisine. – Back of the Bottle

1 1/4 cups

Not available at this time. per Serving

How is this calculated?

  • 1 cup Honeycrisp Apple Cider (or Apple Cider that's already good and sweet)
  • 1 oz. St. Elizabeth's™ Allspice Dram
  • 1 dash of cinnamon

In a cup big enough to hold at least 1 1/4 cups (10 oz.),  heat the apple cider  in the microwave until it is just barely too hot to drink. Add 1 oz. (or 2 tablespoons) of St. Elizabeth's Allspice Dram. Stir it up, add a dash of cinnamon on top and enjoy... Irie Mon!

NOTE: Allspice, nutmeg and clove all have a bit of a numbing effect. Allspice Dram does too! Don't be too surprised if your mouth and throat go a little numb when drinking this beverage.
